Haleakala National Park offers many opportunities for the public to get involved.  Volunteers with their own housing and transportation on Maui can help in a variety of ways both in the Summit and Kipahulu Areas. Project may include administrative/clerical, maintenance (backcountry, cabins, carpentry, general projects, trails, sanitation, etc.), eradication of non-native species, native plant propagation, endangered species monitoring, presentation of educational programs to schools and visitors, staffing visitor centers and much more.  Haleakala National Park has a need for volunteers year-round. For more information, contact the Park Volunteer Coordinator at (808) 572-4487 , e-mail HALE_VIP_Coordinator@nps.gov, or visit www.nps.gov/hale.
